MENNONITE MEDICINE: CURES AND CURIOSITIES

Exhibition, graphic, and promotional design for Mennonite Medicine: Cures and Curiosities, 1800–1950, presented by the Mennonite Heritage Village. This exhibit explores everything from the tragic to the extraordinary. Guests are invited to test their Low German medical vocabulary skills and learn about early healing techniques such as bloodletting, tools such as scarificators, and practitioners such as trajcht’moakes. Exhibit design work on this project included concept development; historical thematic organization; spatial planning; 3D modelling and elevations; creation of interpretive panel layouts integrating historical photographs; collaboration on artefact display design; and management of print production, installation, and lighting upgrades. 2026

Medical illustrations were adapted from “Tablets of Anatomy: Limbs, Abdomen, Pelvis”, 1898 and “Human Anatomy: A Complete Systematic Treatise”, 1902. Exhibit guests are invited to test their Low German medical vocabulary skills.


Elevations and 3D models were developed as part of the exhibit design process.
