THE FORT GARRY HORSE MUSEUM

The Fort Garry Horse Museum displays the regiment’s history from its origins in 1912 to the present day. The exhibition’s redesign began with a fresh coat of red paint, newly constructed artefact cases, and – most importantly – rewritten gallery text and professionally designed interpretive panels. Duties included content development and copywriting, historic image sourcing, scanning and retouching images, gallery layout and interpretive panel design, cost estimating and signage fabrication. The first of three galleries was completed. 2018

Drawings were created, to scale, to help determine artefact placement and mounts as well as interpretive panel sizes and spacing.

The Fort Garry Horse Museum has a large and fascinating photograph collection. After a significant amount of high resolution scanning and photo retouching, these images were displayed in large format, bringing new life to the stories that the museum aims to tell. Customized maps were created.
