When I first undertook to write “Heart of Gold: A History of Winnipeg Music” I envisioned the book to be elaborately designed using hundreds of photos to convey several eras of music. Not an easy task. I knew that the best art director for the job was Anikó Szabó. Having worked with her in the past on the Manitoba Museum’s “Shakin’ All Over: The Manitoba Music Experience” exhibit, I came to know that she is the finest art director and designer in Winnipeg (and anywhere for that matter). And she far exceeded my expectations in creating a glorious celebration of Winnipeg music. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Anikó is a delight to work with: clever, creative and dedicated. She made the experience of designing my book fun, too. Thank you, Anikó.
